Bursitis occurs usually in the hip. However there are some hip bursitis remedies which help in managing the condition.

In the hip region, there are two major bursae which get inflamed- trochanter and iliopsoas which are located on the outer and inner side of the hip respectively. Inflammation of trochanter is called trochanteric bursitis and is detected by the tenderness of the outer hip.

The iliopsoas bursitis which is less common than trochanteric bursitis, is identified by pain in the groin region. This pain manifests in the buttock region as well.

Symptoms of hip bursitis are as follows:
• Sharp pain in the hip
• pain extending to the outside of the thigh area.
The pain is at first felt as intense and sharp. Later it spreads all over the hip region. The pain gets worse usually when you get up after sitting for a long time. It is more common condition in elderly people and middle aged people and also in women.
Stress or injury to the hip can increase the risk of hip bursitis. Also it is possible that prople with unequal legs (in terms of length) are at a higher risk of getting hip bursitis.
Although hip bursitis cannot be completely prevented, here are few home remedies for hip bursitis, which help in easing the pain and managing the condition.

Home Remedies for Bursitis Hip:

Castor oil
Apply 5 to 10 ml of castor oil to a clean cotton cloth and apply on affected area to get relief from bursitis pain.

Ginger Powder
Mix a tea spoon of ginger powder in a glass of water and drink this to get relief.

Turmeric Powder
Apply a paste of turmeric powder and water on the affected are and cover the area with a cloth.
