I tried ACV (the natural kind), then Listerine, then aloe vera gel (Lily of the Desert, 99% pure aloe gel) leave on over night. The sore didn't get bigger or scabbed. Will repeat tonight. Also used HerpecinL during the day.

The only thing that has ever worked for me is Apple Cider Vinegar but if you don’t have a high pain tolerance, I wouldn’t recommend it

Coconut Oil on its own worked best in the end! I posted a previous comment advising a drop of Tea Tree to add to it but seemed to stop the sore from completely healing. Dam. Fricking things are so sensitive.

Whatever works for you but I used to get them all the time then somewhere I read about "Lactinex" which is over the counter, costs about $10 and you take these tiny pills 3 to 4 times per day. They taste like malted milk. What they are is Lactobacillus Acidophilis (good microbes). My theory is that your gut is out of balance where the bad microbes have taken over (includes your herpes virus) so you need to bring it back into balance. Stops the lesions and heals quickly. In the future and since I was taking my Probiotic I took it 4 times per day instead of once and that worked too. It stops the lesions and heals quickly. Then I went back to once a day. Your gut microbiome rules. You can also do the coconut oil or other modalities along with it.
