Bruises are extremely common marks on the skin caused due to bleeding under the skin after blood vessels are ruptured. These are usually characterized with swelling, pain as well as blue and red marks on the affected area. Beginning with red marks, these turn to deep blue or black within hours after the blood vessels are ruptured. These are caused even with the slightest of injuries to any body part. The best way to stop these bruises is through home remedies.

Ice Pack.
The best way to provide instant relief from swelling and pain is through ice packs. Just take some ice cubes and rub on the affected area for as long as possible. Try this remedy immediately after getting the bruises and repeat this after every few hours for about 24 hours. Another option, soak a cotton cloth in ice water and apply on affected area.

Lemon.
Lemon is a good home remedy to cure bruises since it is rich in Vitamin C. This helps stop the bleeding and bringing quick relief from swelling and pain. Just take half a lemon and apply it directly on the affected area. No need to wash it off. For faster recovery from bruises, try this remedy as many times as possible.

Mullein Flower.
Take a few mullein flowers and add it to one tablespoon of olive oil. Mix it well and apply this on the affected area. This will help in the recovery of the bruises real fast. For visible results, try this remedy twice or thrice till the bruises get cured.

Turmeric.
Turmeric is an excellent home remedy for bruises since it has antiseptic properties. Take one teaspoon of turmeric powder and mix it to one glass of water or milk and drink it. Alternatively, apply a turmeric paste on the bruises to help it heal faster. For better results, use this remedy twice.

Comfrey.
Take one teaspoon of comfrey dried comfrey leaves and add it to one cup of boiling water. Allow this to steep for about 15 minutes, strain and use a cotton ball to apply this on the affected area. However, if needed comfrey solution can be used as a cold compress. Try this remedy after every few hours for faster healing of the bruises.

Apple Cider Vinegar.
Apple cider vinegar is a good remedy that helps reduce the effects of bruises. Just a clean cotton cloth and add a few drops of apple cider vinegar in it. Apply this all over the bruises and hold it tight for about 10 t0 15 minutes. For faster relief from bruises, try this remedy every 6 to 8 hours and for about one week

Thyme Leaves.
Take about 15 to 20 fresh thyme leaves and add it to boiling water. Boil the water for about 10 minutes. Allow the water to cool down and strain the liquid. Add this water to a tub of water and soak the body in it. This will help heal the bruises faster and try this after every few hours.

Epsom Salt.
Take a bowl of warm water and add two cups of Epsom salt. Let the water cool down. Soak the affected area in the salt solution for a few minutes. Rinse the area after some time and try this remedy twice daily.
