Diwali legiyam is a traditional South Indian home remedies for common ailments. We use this during festivals particularly in Diwali as it helps digestion, acts as a good appetizer. It also cures normal cold etc.

In our places our ancestors use to give this medicine to the mothers immediately after the delivery. Though it is called as medicine (marundhu in Tamil) it is very sweet and even children like to eat.

Better not to take too much of it. One or two spoons a day could be fine.
